Thank You Sunny Hills Community!

Thanks to your generosity, we donated over 400 pounds of food and diapers to the Issaquah Food Bank.  The IFB staff was so excited because our donation pushed them over 3000 pounds of donations for the day.  The Food Bank is incredibly grateful for the support they have been receiving in light of the recent SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) delays so thank you to all who made our Fall donation drive a success!

If you'd still like to help the Food Bank, they've extended the deadline for their Holiday Gift Program to November 24th.  Funds for gift cards can be donated through our own Sunny Hills link here: https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/GIFTS2025/Fundraiser9

Thank you!

Community Please Take Action Now
➡️PTA members, students and educators, act now and send a message to your federal representatives and our Senators Murray and Cantwell, using National PTA’s action alert: https://www.pta.org/home/advocacy/take-action?vvsrc=%2fCampaigns%2f130746%2fRespond

Let them know that limiting the Department of Education’s capacity to serve all students regardless of race, zip code, gender, ability, or status only harms our students and keeps them from making their potential a reality.

With the announcement of major staff layoffs at the Department of Education, it is more critical than ever to let your members of Congress know that this is hurting our 1.1 million children and youth in Washington State.

The critical staff being eliminated are from the Office of Special Education and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, overseeing programs and disbursement of funds impacting some of our most vulnerable students in special education and Title I programs.

Thank you to everyone who has become a member so far this year: YOU are the reason our PTA achieved this award! If you haven’t yet signed up for a PTA membership or renewed from last year, please consider joining today! By doing so, you are demonstrating your support for our PTA and all it does for Sunny Hills.
