Important! Staff Appreciation Week! We need you!

It’s that time of year! Staff Appreciation Week (May 4–8)! This is when we pull out all the stops to celebrate the incredible humans who teach, support, encourage, and somehow keep our kids on track day after day.

We’ve got a fun week planned and would love your help to make it extra special!

Monday (May 4): Taco ‘Bout Amazing Staff Lunch
We’re treating staff to a taco bar lunch! Please sign up to bring items or help us serve up something delicious.

Tuesday (May 5): Flower Power Day
Students are invited to bring flowers, and we’ll create beautiful bouquets for staff.
We need volunteers to help collect and arrange flowers (two separate time frames for sign-ups).
**Must be an ISD-approved volunteer to help with flowers.

 Wednesday (May 6): Staff Potluck Extravaganza and Notes of Thanks
Sign up to bring your family’s favorite dish to share. 
We also need help supporting students with thank-you notes.
**Must be an ISD-approved volunteer to help with cards.

Thursday (May 7): Notes of Thanks
Help students write heartfelt (and sometimes adorably funny) thank-you notes for staff and assist with collecting them.
**Must be an ISD-approved volunteer to help with cards.

Thank you for helping us shower our amazing staff with appreciation, gratitude, and a little extra joy (and food, we know that’s key). We truly couldn’t do it without you!

Celebrate Your 5th Grader!

Now through April 30th, order a personalized 18"x24" yard sign to proudly display your 5th grade graduate’s name (*name display is optional) for only $20! 

Each sign is single-sided, comes with a sturdy step stake, and will make your front yard pop with pride! Be sure to enter your grad's name exactly how you want it printed! **If you do not want your student's name displayed, please write "NONE" in the name section.

Cultural Fest

Spring Plastic Film Drive

Sunny Hills is excited to partner with Ridwell to help keep plastic film out of landfills this spring! To participate in this limited-time recycling drive and celebrate Earth Month, bring plastic film (ziptop bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) to school on April 29th and Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills. It’ll be turned into new decking materials instead! 

Start collecting plastic film at home now so you have a bunch for the drive.
Curious about recycling more from home, like the school is doing? Visit https://get.ridwell.com/sunny-hills to learn more about Ridwell—and share the page with family and friends! You can help the school earn plastic-film pickups for the entire ‘26/’27 school year if 10 new members join Ridwell Pickups or Mail-in through our school’s webpage by May 22.

Math Challenge is here!

🚀Join the Math Challenge!


The Math Challenge 2025–2026 is open to all students — no sign-up required! Starting September 12, 2025, a new set of math problems will be posted every two weeks until May 8, 2026. Students complete the challenges at home and can discuss them with family and friends. Those who participate regularly will be eligible for prizes🏅.
